Bitter Gourd Fry(Karela Fry)

Basically Iam a big fan of bittergourd recipes even though it tastes too bitter.We never try to remove the bitterness of it and we love to have it as such.I guess you all know the various health benefits of bitter gourd.The best among them is bittergourd is good for diabetes.So we try to include this veggie in our cooking at least once in a week.This fries is a great tea time evening snack and a good side dish for variety rice & curd rice.Do make this South Indian style crispy bittergourd fries recipe and enjoy !



Ingredients:

Bitter Gourds -4
Salt - 2 tblspn
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1 tblspn
Salt a pinch
Oil for Deep Frying
Onion-1 big
Garlic Clove-4
Cummin seeds-1 tbsp

How to make?

Clean bitter gourd

remove upper layers

after removing upper layer of bitter gourd

cut into slices

Add turmeric and salt

add water and let it be for 5mins and squeeze the bitter with hands
Repeat this by adding water,salt,turmeric for 4 times and squeeze.

After removing bitter from bitter gourd

In oil add garlic cloves,cummin seeds,mustred seeds

Add onion slices and let it fry for 5 mins

Now add bitter gourd 

Add red chilli powder 

Add coriander powder and mix everything 

Here is the bitter gourd fry ready!!
