Andhra Majjiga Charu

Andhra Majjiga charu recipe – Majjiga charu is another seasoned yogurt dish from the Andhra cuisine. Majiga pulusu is made with vegetables; while majiga charu doesn’t need any vegetables except onions.


To make this majjiga charu, onions are slightly fried and then added to the yogurt along with tempering..

These seasoned yogurts are best served during summers with just steamed rice. 

Ingredients:

1Thick Curd1 Cup
2Onion1 or 2
3Chilli4 or 5
4Cumin seeds1 tbsp
5Mustard1 tbsp
6Turmeric1 tbsp
7Coriander leavesHand Full
8Oil1 tbsp
9Curry leaves4-5 sprigs
10Garlic 1 clove
11Gingervery little
12Salt 1.5 to 2 tbsps


Procedure:

Take all ingredients

Add chillis and coriander leaves in mixy bowl

Add water (very little) , garlic,ginger in mixy bowl

After grinding ,pour into bowl



Take curd

Add curd into mixy bowl

after grinding curd,pour this into bowl

now add the paste into curd

add salt

mix everything

in oil : add mustard,cummin seeds,curry leaves,red chillis

after 2 mins add onion slices

add turmeric

let it fry for 2 mins..dont fry too much

Switch off the stove while pouring curd

now add little bit of coriander leaves
