Soft Idlis

Idli has to be the top most comfort food for all South Indians.
This recipe is a very basic recipe which uses only four ingredients namely Urad dal, Idly rice, fenugreek seeds and Salt. Its the technique that makes this the best batter ever.
Each and every ingredient is ground separately. All the ingredients are soaked for a minimum of 3-4 hours and then ground. Wash all the ingredients in the beginning and then soak it in water. Wash the rice 3-4 times so the idli will be really white later.

3Normal rice1 Cup
4Fenugreek seeds2 tbsp
5Salt2 tbsp

How to make?



Soak in water for 5 hrs::
2cups idly rice+ 1 cup normal rice+2 tbsp fenugreek seeds


Soak in water for 5 hrs:: 1 cup of urad dal

Grind separately  urad dal and rice .After that mix both with the hands
Mixing urad dal and rice batter in 1 bowl with hand

Add 2 tbsp of salt and mix the batter again

leave the batter overnight.You can see the batter will raise.


cook idlies for 10 mins

Wait for 2 mins and remove the idlies with spoon

here the soft idlies are ready
